Jacqueline Burton Mwasomola, a standout international student at Beijing International Studies University (BISU), is making waves in cross-cultural tourism research. Drawing on her professional experience in Tanzania’s tourism industry and her teaching background, Jacqueline—who goes by the Chinese name "Xingfu" (meaning happiness)—has been deepening her studies in Sino-global cultural and tourism integration within BISU’s international academic environment.

She recently became the first international student at BISU to publish in the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, a top-tier journal in the field. She has also completed research and writing for a second core journal paper. Offering a unique Global South perspective on emerging tourist destinations, Jacqueline is not only energizing international tourism academia but also building a solid bridge for cultural and tourism exchanges between China, Tanzania, and other Belt and Road countries.
